Endoscopy

Endoscopy allows the veterinarian to visually look at the upper airway passages and trachea (ie, wind pipe) of the horse. The endoscopy instrument, placed in the horse's upper airway, is a small camera or a fiber-optic cable that transfers a live picture from the end of a small tube to an eyepiece or TV screen. This procedure is minimally invasive and offers a detailed examination of the upper airway.
