Join NEVC in Giving to HEROES! hetra

We invite you to join us  in giving to the EQUINE SERVICES FOR VETERANS program at HETRA. This incredible organization is serving the needs of our local veterans.  Services are offered at no cost to veterans and we would like to keep it that way.  The cost to provide 1 session is $253.50.  We would like to help HETRA continue the program by off setting sessions costs and providing much needed adult sized equipment.

About the program:

HETRA started our Veteran program in September of 2010.  Veterans of any age and type of disability are encouraged to explore participation in this program (specific precautions and contraindications to horseback riding will be addressed through a thorough evaluation by an occupational therapist to determine eligibility).  Our Veteran program is designed to evaluate and provide opportunities for improvement physically, mentally and socially for participants.  Veterans will participate in 45 minute therapeutic sessions conducted by the HETRA team.  The HETRA team consists of Veteran Volunteers (Horse leaders and Side walkers to assist the participant), PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors, Occupational Therapists, and a Mental Health Therapist. If you have questions or are interested in enrolling in the Equine Services for Veterans Program please contact Edye Godden at [email protected] or (402) 359-8830.  More information about the program can be found at http://hetra.org/our-services/veterans/.
